The Counseling Process

You are welcome to inquire about my services through a free 15-minute consultation session before scheduling a counseling session. This consultation can be booked through the booking page on my website. Once you book the session, I will send you an intake and consent form as required by the regulatory college. You may complete and sign the form beforehand, or we can discuss it further during the consultation.

After the consultation, I will proceed with the first counseling session. During this session, I will review your intake and consent forms, focus on understanding your current concerns, and work with you to identify goals.

The therapeutic process begins with the assessment, which is an integral part of therapy itself. Many clients find relief in being listened to in a safe, trustful, and confidential environment. The assessment process typically takes place over the first two sessions. During this time, I will explore your past history and family background, identify your strengths and challenges, and gain a comprehensive understanding of your concerns. From this, I will collaborate with you to develop a personalized plan and direction for our work together. I will also discuss the frequency of counseling sessions with you during this phase. In subsequent sessions, we will work collaboratively toward achieving the agreed-upon goals. As counseling progresses, I will review and adjust goals and plans as needed to ensure they continue to meet your evolving needs.
